In 1819 the publishers George Caw and Henry Elder had located their business at 221 High Street, Stamp Office Close, Edinburgh.

There George Caw with his long time experience as a printer combined his labour with the young bookseller Henry Elder and together they produced The Edinburgh Juvenile Library series of children’s chapbooks.
