Abstract

A collection of mostly humorous ballads and songs, including a satirical song about the latest fashions and hair styles of both aristocrats and commoners; a funny song about a barber who proposes to shave different parts off of a variety of different people’s heads; another about a girl so naïve that she doesn’t even realize she is being courted; and, finally, the lament of a young woman who is forbidden by her parents to marry her penniless lover who has left to go to sea.
