Abstract
This is an account of the life of Dennis, a serving man turned robber, who is also a man of conscience and who reforms and renews his relationship with his old master after his capture and imprisonment. He is hung, but is revived through various superstitious Irish rituals, after which he emigrates to America and lives a successful and productive life. This account is followed by several humorous anecdotes on a variety of topics including crime, courts, politics, travel, and religion.
